You Can't BEET October?

Is it REALLY Bedtime?
It's always a sad time of year, when I get to the end of gardening. I know it's coming, every fall, but still, I hate to see it arrive.

one of my last harvests, a few beets, some tomato, some carrot, a couple of eggplant, and peppers, too. Oh, and the bowl of raspberries.

It's that time of year, putting the garden to bed, maybe? I also make some great appetizers with my harvest, Sicilian caponata (with a Greek Flair), some roasted beets, and a wonderful centerpeice for my wife's table for her Book Club!

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.
