Blown

Some thinking process behind the photography.

I generally don't like hard shadows on photos and i don't like clean flash to the head. If you take a look on the stage you will see black walls (and black ceiling). Black is not great for bouncing light, it does not want to bunce from it.

Only place that you can bounce light from on the stage is the back of it. I sometimes put the flash behind it and get a nice big softbox but then it works on one side of it. And the club did make the stage bigger so everyone is farther from the light.

So i tried something new. Set the flash on one side of the stage facing the white background and photographing the other side of the stage. Would probably work much better if i had a high light stand. Putting it on the speaker down low was not ideal.

Bouncing it from the back of the stage is nice for photographing the audience. It usually gives a nice light.

You can see that the light was low by all the shadows from mic stands and drums.

On some photos i gave up on the flash and just went with the much loved led light stage lights

Was joking with a friend that he should have not do the nose job (he had to, years ago) as he could have been a double for Yuri from Stranger Things :D

For this two photos i should have gone with more (or less i am never sure is bigger number more or less) f-stop to get the bass player less blured. Singer was a guest on one song and it is a son of the bass player. And i think it was their first time performing together.
