Prices Changing Daily
No one ever really thinks of getting a remodel project done, and having to worry about the price changing in 2 weeks. It did happen before, but it was rare. I am currently dealing with prices changing daily, and it is very hard to operate in this environment.
For example we are building a couple houses, and the wood price change daily. Up and down, and over a 6 month period the wood prices have doubled. We usually have our bids good for 30 days, but are having a meeting on reducing that to a week. I have one job, since signing up, material has gone up $30,000 dollars.
It is getting very hard to stay profitable, and ever more important that our job bidders are on the ball.
