Slipping into the crunch

With the rain now long gone and the heat setting in, we are slowly going into the crunch. as humidity in the soil starts to dwindle, the anual plants can no longer maintain their green and they start to dry out turning into a toasted light brown.

at this time of year the local authorities issue a deadline for the cleaning of the properties due to fire hazard. this year, being a good year in rains and humidity levels, the date was pushed back to June 15th.
I am finally now being able to catch up on the scythe work and cut down the grass for the last time for the season.
in the process I rediscover trees I forgot I had, bamboo and other surprises. it is satisfying to slowly visually recover the landscape.

this year the Olive trees are loaded with flowers that slowly turn into tiny fruit. there is nothing that gives us more work on the farm, but there is nothing more rewarding ❤️

the corns growing alongside the production bamboos are doing well and are already way taller. there are some pumpkins too.

the Pecans, sharing their space with pumpkins, literally disappear among the massive foliage.

and finally, the Ligustrum flowers beautifully in the nursery.
