The musician's life is full of sacrifices.

How many times have we had to say no to our family and friends when they invited us out because we had to practice?
Learning an instrument and taking your playing to mastery levels requires many hours of work, entire weekends accompanied only by scales and your instrument.

But how much of this is really necessary? If being a musician is to play what we are and live, isn't going out to share with our families a form of inspiration, of acquiring experiences to play later?

I believe that the answer lies in maintaining a balance between our relationship with the flute and our rest time; understanding that not every practice session is beneficial because there is a difference between playing and practicing.
To make progress in our practices, we need absolute concentration and not all the time we have the energy for it. And you know what? It's okay, there's nothing wrong with that.

If you are tired, if you feel sick or if you just don't want to play today, don't do it, go out and enjoy yourself with your family, recharge your batteries and come back to the study room the next day.

I promise you that your flute will be there, waiting for you as always.
