WeWork accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies

Coinbase's direct listing and influence in the traditional stock market have brought some interest to cryptocurrencies. Perhaps the listing has led to people taking cryptocurrencies a bit more serious, but WeWork, one of the flexible space provider have started accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC and a number of other cryptocurrencies.

According to the announcement, the move to accept cryptocurrencies is going to be done in partnership with Coinbase and Bitpay. Although it wasn't specified which currency will be used for the first, Coinbase will be the first company to pay in cryptocurrency.

According to the CEO of WeWork, this move is about handling the demand and evolving with the times

WeWork’s strength is in our ability to evolve and best meet the diverse needs of our members around the world. As our member base continues to grow in the fintech sector, so will our ability to adapt to their needs and service a new economy. WeWork has always been at the forefront of innovative technologies, finding new ways to support our members. It only makes sense for us to expand on the optionality we provide by adding cryptocurrency as an accepted form of payment for our members.”

It is always nice to see more companies embrace the currency of tomorrow. I don't know how we'll get Fiverr to accept cryptocurrencies as payment but that will go a long way in making my life easy.
