Local rice ruined dinner
I've really not been in the mood for cooking for a couple of weeks now, but after seeing @wolfofnostreet's post about Rice and Stew, I decided to throw on the apron and whip up the same meal.
The stew is the only tedious part because I have to steam meat and all that shit. I handled it pretty well actually, and for the first time in a long time, the meat didn't even get burnt due to being distracted by some other shit.
Okay, so Stew is ready and all that's left is the rice and this is when things start getting a bit...rocky. Literally!!! I buy locally processed rice as an act of patriotism and because it is cheap but I think this will be the last time I ever do.
I love the idea of supporting local farmers but if they're not going to do something about all the tiny stones inside the rice, I'll just stick with imported rice. The stones inside the rice completely sucked out the joy of eating and turned the food into a chore. After accidentally biting all those tiny stones and dust particles, I had a headache and decided enough is enough. Food shouldn't be that stressful.
I'll go back to buying "foreign rice" for now. Hopefully, local farmers can sort it out and improve the quality of the rice because eating tiny stones and shit sucks.
