In the second post to Art I want to show you another picture from my Encaustic shellac painting technique. It is a bit darker than my previous pictures but not less interesting.

I increased the color pigmentation (color density) in the beeswax a lot and so the wax did not flow as fluid as in the pictures before.

One more warning at the end

If you make your own Encaustic colours, you should make sure that you use clarified and deacidified beeswax, otherwise toxic fumes are produced when the colours melt.

The lifetime of the Encaustic painters in past times was therefore not very high, but the luminosity of the colours of their paintings in the pyramids (the wall paintings in the tomb of Tutankhamun are made in Encaustic technique) have hardly faded and are still alive today.

Im zweiten Art Post will ich euch ein weiteres Bild aus meiner Encaustic-Schellack Maltechnik zeigen. Es ist im Gegensatz zu meinen zuvor gezeigten Bildern wirkt es etwas „Düsterer“ aber deshalb nicht weniger interessant.
Ich habe die Farbpigmentierung (Farbdichte) im Bienenwachs um einiges erhöht und somit floss das Wach nicht so flüssig wie in den Bildern zuvor.

Noch eine Warnung am Ende

Wer seine Encaustic Farben selbst herstellt sollte tunlichst darauf achten, geklärtes und entsäuertes Bienenwachs zu nehmen, da sonst giftige Dämpfe beim Aufschmelzen der Farben entstehen.

Die Lebenszeit der Encaustic Maler in vergangenen Zeiten war deshalb nicht sehr hoch aber die Leuchtkraft der Farben ihrer Bilder in den Pyramiden (Die Wandmalereien in der Grabkammer des Tutanchamun sind in Encaustic Technik angefertigt) sind bis heute kaum verblasst und immer noch lebendig.
