18K Cadena Bracelet

A couple of years ago, I posted about starting my gold collection. You can read about it here: The Gold Standard. Here I've explained why I decided to start investing in gold, its benefits and how it measures up compared to other investments.

I would also like to be part of the Silver Gold Stackers Community. I am unsure if I would qualify as I could only stack gold jewelry and most of the posts that I see are more on coins and ingots. For today, I would like to feature one of my favorite gold pieces in my collection. This is my very first gold bracelet, it measures only 7.5" and is just under 2 grams of 18 karat gold. 75% purity. I purchased this as a gift for myself. I was on a limited budget back then and could not really afford anything fancy. With today's conversion I got this for around $97 dollars.

This is how it looks when worn on my wrist. It is not too loud and still relatively safe and not too attention grabbing when I am out and about. I could also easily conceal it under strap when I'm wearing my watch.

One day I would be starting my own online jewelry store I hope early next year; and once I've paid out my credit card balances.
I am unsure if I would be reselling this one as it holds some sort of sentimental value as it is a birthday gift for myself. I bought this from OngPin. Manila's chinatown and source of gold pieces by the gram. Do not but in malls as they are very expensive.

One thing about the Philippine Gold Market especially for jewelry is that it is very active and lucrative. Many have seen success coming from humble beginnings. Another thing I would like to share is that usually for silver jewelry the most common metal is 92.5 silver. I don't really know where I could get a 99.99% silver coin as I've been searching around but I could not find any reliable or trusted sellers. I also don't see news if our banks are selling minted coins of silver and gold, I have to do a bit more research on that one. But if they do I would certainly start a stacking collection.

One tip I have is that if you want to start gold collection in the Philippines, start with 18K gold and nothing higher than that. Pawnshops here can only determine purity of up to 21K. If you want to pawn a 24 carat piece, it will only be appraised at 21 carat meaning you are losing a lot of value.
