This is how my roses dawned
However, keeping roses is a job. Apparently, like orchids, they require a lot of care and human companionship.
And that was where I was failing, and now I understand: plants are living beings and, as such, need to feel the presence of their caretaker.
Today, now retired, without much effort, I've managed to grow this rosebush.
It all started with two rose plants that were given to me (and honestly, I had no faith in them), and me watering them every two days, keeping them out of direct sunlight, and following certain instructions I learned on social media, such as adding a banana peel when transplanting them and ground eggshells from time to time.
Of course, they're in a spot in the garden where they strategically listen to all our family conversations.
My husband used to sing to the plants. And every time I see them bloom, I feel like they're a gift from him to me.
