Japanese Dango γ γγπ‘ Stall (Rice Flour Sweets)
Hello Fellow Foodies,
I hope everyone is having a great π€ week.
Last week I shared some pictures of a π― yen mochi stall I ran into by chance in a usually free space near our local supermarket. This week that same space was occupied by another stall selling Japanese traditional sweets called dango
γ γγ.
Dango γ γγπ‘
Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour. There are many kinds of dango. Popular types include but are not limited to Mitarashi (Soy), Kibi, Goma(sesame seeds), Sweet Potato, Hanamiπ‘ and Kinako.
The Japanese attendant at this stall said that there were 9 nine kinds of dango on display. Some dumplings were plain, a few varieties had the sweet flavor of Anko-red bean paste, while others were dipped in a soy based syrup.
At this stall four dango dumplings on one bamboo skewer was being sold for 200 yen.
Evaluation
My family and I enjoyed the taste of the Yomogi dango and Mitarashi dango. I suspect to that we will be having more of the Hanami dangoπ‘ variety this Spring.
Stay connected, stay blessed.
