Weekend - Engagement: Week 150 - Courage
When we talk of courage, it means a lot especially for someone who understands the meaning of survival. I do tell people that living comfortably and successfully in this world takes courage. The hustling for survival daily makes some people give up on life especially when things aren't working the way we except.
Being courageous is not something we only confess with our mouths, it shows in how we handle situations in life, and the strategies we adopt in making our lives easier. Being courageous can be determined by the ability of an individual to fight one's fear, some circumstances will question one's bravery and push one to a breaking point but the outcome or result achieved from such problems is what shows one courage.
Courage can be defined as strength in the face of pain or grief, but let's keep in mind that courage is not the absence of fear, courageous people do fear but they can manage and overcome their fear so that it does not stop them from taking action. This fear is used to put them in check not to be overconfident in taking appropriate actions.
Growing up, I do nurse fears in me because I get scared of every little thing and this kept affecting me even when I grew to a certain age. My parents do take me out just to face other people and express myself well because I do exclude myself from social gatherings. To face my fears, I was asked to join the choir unit at church so that I can build my courage by facing the crowd but today I can say it has helped me a lot in becoming a better person in every area of my life.
Courage is the choice and willingness to confront pain, agony, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation, reading through Professor Daniel Putman writeup, he said " Courage involves deliberate choice in the face of painful or fearful circumstances for the sake of a worthy goal. There are two points that helps build a courageous act and these are fear and confidence, these points determine success of a courageous act or goal.
Learn to face your fear in times of trouble and build yourself into becoming a better person, be courageous and live to your goals.
