Story Snippet From the Picture
The captain looked down at his watch for the fourth time in the last twenty minutes. He was waiting on the tide. He thought he felt the ship shift slightly. The tide was beginning to come in, it would be another 6 hours before high tide.
He looked once more at the missive, then the tide book. He should be able to make the pick up he thought as the ship definitely shifted a little bit. Another 20 minutes he thought as he looked once more at his watch.
He called to the equipment room, "Bob, how is the radio, every thing one hundred percent on it?"
Bob glanced over to Skip, and shook his head in a slightly disgusted manner, "Yeah, Yeah, Bill there is nothing wrong with the radio, antenna is working just fine, you want to hear what your girlfriend is saying right now or what? Don't worry, we can hear a rat fart from eight miles away, we will get the recording."
Bill rubbed his forehead, they just did not understand how dangerous the job was. "Alright tell Skip to gear up and that I want him top side in the nest, in ten minutes we will be on our way, you are sure our fish sonar will mask the radio noise?" he asked one last time?
Well that's pretty much it, just a little story snippet I just snipped up, to go with the picture. The boat is in the channel to the Kenai Small Boat Harbor, likely waiting on the morning tide to come in so he can get out and start his fishing day. Or maybe he really is on a secret covert mission to record a conversation about to take place on another boat or one of the small islands. One just never knows in this day and age.
