Dining Out

It has been raining here for the last few days, since about Friday evening. So we went out for dinner. With the departure of the tourist, and locals not needing to try and impress their visitors with the area they live in, and showing them what fine dining establishments we have, that has made it easier for us to go out and eat on occasion.

The Flats Bisto has become one of our favorite places for dining out. For a nice late afternoon meal, the soup and salad are a great meal. Filling and the soups are pretty tasty. Today however I opted for a semi regular meal. I always mean to get a photo of the food plate before I have completely devoured it, but by the time it arrives, and I see the food, all thoughts except 'man that looks good' and desires to do anything other than pick the fork up and taste the food go out the door. By the time I remember that I wanted to get a nice picture I am left with the photo over there to the right, two thirds of the way eaten. That was the point at which my brain kicked in and said "Hey we were supposed to get a picture of the dinner plate to make a post!" That was the Ahi Tuna and Jasmine Rice with stir fried veggies dinner plate. It looked a lot nicer and the aioli drizzle made for a nice touch along with adding a little bit of flavor. It was a very nice filling meal.

The Flats Bistro is a small and cozy little place to dine, we always try to get in before 6 PM if we are going to eat, otherwise after 6 PM you pretty much need a reservation, it can fill up pretty quick.

They have a small raised area on the far left side of the image, (by the front window), that is converted into a small piano or music group stage for musicians they occasionally have for evening entertainment. All the art work on the walls are from Local Artist that they provide space for.

Habits are hard to break. I am in the habit if this particular space is open for parking it is the one I am going to park in. It was still early on Sunday, so lots of parking spaces were available.

There was even a parking place right next to the front door, but no, habits. So we plan on getting out and making the wet dash to avoid as much rain as we could, well we still got wet, because of me. Oh well, it did not spoil the meal. After we ate we were to full for desert, but fortunately they do have to-go boxes, so we bought home some home made chocolate cheesecake to try later.

Well that is pretty much it for my Something on Sunday post. I was only able to get one post out last week, so am going to try for a few more this week. All photo's were taken by me with my Samsung Smartphone except the Bistro sign which was taken with my Nikon camera and used in a previous post.
