Beaver Moon, Frost Moon, and Mourning Moon.

Three Full Moon Photo's

Full moon for where I am at in Alaska was at 12:29AM on the 30th. There was a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse just before full moon starting at Nov 29 at 10:32:22 pm and continuing until Nov 30 at 2:53:22 am. Which I pretty much missed. The moon was hidden behind clouds for most of that time, When I finally laid down at 1:00 AM the moon still was not out.

Want to know when the next one will happen for you:

The https://www.timeanddate.com/ site has a lot more information than just the time and date. Such as teaching me the name of the November full moon: Beaver Moon, also know as the "Frost Moon and Mourning Moon".

At about 4:45 am I woke up to take care of some things, (I drank to much water waiting on the moon). I noticed that the moon was shining pretty bright so trying to be quiet so as not to wake my wife, I managed to get my camera on the tripod and get a few pictures.

moon and orion
You can see Orion constellation in the left side of the picture. Just enough clouds blocking the moon to allow some stars.

Clouds continuing to clear, I do like the colors that pop out when the moon is reflecting off the upper clouds and the moisture, sometime you can get moon dogs and full rainbow halo's.

And there it is shinning like a mini sun free of the clouds. I do like the rays coming off the full moon, but one day I hope to get a good picture of just the moon, to where you can see the craters, I am still working on that, but will have to break the big lens out for it I think.

All the images were taken using my landscape lens with a focal length of 20mm at 1200 ISO, the times and f-stops varied. I did do a little photo editing on the pictures and some cropping/resizing.

As soon as I laid back down I was back to sleep. Total time was less than 20 minutes of being awake.
