😈 BASE JUMPING A WIND TURBINE 😈

So, much like other objects we base jump, wind turbines need to be jumped at dawn or dusk. Many wind farms have service engineers around the farm in daylight hours, so we don't want to get them too excited.

Lock picking skills are a requirement if you do not have a key to get in, but lucky for us we have someone who works for a company that installs the turbines, thus we have permanent access 😈.

A note to any basejumper planning on their first wind turbine:

DO NOT DAMAGE ANYTHING TO GET ACCESS, AND THAT GOES FOR WHEN/IF YOU MAKE IT INSIDE ALSO, PLEASE LEAVE AS IF YOU WERE NEVER THERE. WE WANT TO KEEP BASE JUMPING WIND TURBINES AND IF JUMPERS BREAK LOCKS OR LEAVE LIFTS UP THE TOP YOU WILL RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE IN THE SPORT. I DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE TO WRITE THAT BUT WE HAVE BECOME AWARE OF SOME NEW JUMPERS TO THE SPORT THAT HAVE BEEN BURNING WIND FARMS IN THE NORTH OF THE UK. DON'T BE A DICK.

I would recommend going with a base jumper that has already jumped one, as they will know what to do inside and how to access the hatch properly. I won't say anymore as this is a public forum, but most of the wind turbines I have jumped are not a case of 'enter, get the lift up and jump'. They are making these wind turbines more and more difficult for us to gain access up the top, and they have ways of knowing if you are in there...I'll leave it at that.

I can't show photos of inside the turbine, but here is what I can show:

This was basically pitch black, my insta 360 One R camera has an amazing night mode that basically makes it look lighter. I took a beer with me to drink up the top but it got dark and the wind picked up a lot, the blades were rotating fast, so we just wanted to get off it ASAP.

This is what it actually looked like from my iPhone.

It was almost pitch black.
