A lost star in a tiny galaxy.

Science fiction writers tried to convince us that galaxies can be tiny, and we saw this in the movie Men in Black, and you know, there's quite a bit of truth in that fantasy lol.

Yes, and tiny galaxies must be home to equally tiny stars, and judging by the fact that few people ever see them, someone must have lost them, or perhaps thrown them away because they weren't needed, as in the case you see in this photograph.

Macro photography involves photographing tiny objects from a close distance, as in my case, or using a macro lens, which I don't have.

But I have a wide-angle lens on my camera, which allows me to take pseudo-macro photographs from close range.

There's a complication here: the closer the object, the better it needs to be illuminated. But in the case of a tiny and rather dim galaxy, which was half the shell of a discarded zucchini, hardened and stiffened by the sun, and an equally dim star, which was the inner junction of the same zucchini's stem, it was perfectly illuminated.

To add even more mystery to this galaxy, I decided to immerse it all in negative photography.

So, for a brief moment, I was immersed in a previously unknown cosmos.
