A Quilled Coaster
Several years ago, when I was deep into my quilling phase, I wanted to make a coaster.
If you are curious what Quilling is, it's basically twirling strips of paper.
I have made tiny objects, like teapots and potted plants; but, I am really more of an abstract artist in all mediums I try.
The idea behind the design was 'ocean'. You may interpret as you wish, but that was my thought process.
Maybe you can see the tiny boat on the giant wave as the sun is threatened by the dark sky and the sea gets angry.
Maybe not.
Whatever it is YOU see, I was pleased with the way my little DIY coaster came out. I keep it in my studio as a little reminder of my paper quilling days.
