When brownies were invented, our 25th President was in office. William McKinley was the face on the $500 bill! A brownie is a rectangular, chocolate baked confection. They can be fudgy or cakey, sometimes light and sometimes dense. They may include toppings like nuts, frosting, cream cheese, chocolate chips, or other interesting ingredients, such as M&Ms! They are typically eaten by hand, and often accompanied by a big glass of milk. They can be served 'a la mode' or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, too!
