Oh My Masala!

Oh My Masala, my taste buds delight!

How did I get so far into my adult years without this spice in my life?

On our prompt day July 6, 2025 for vss365 on X our word was masala.

I ruminated on how to use it all day.

Crickets.

My husband wanted to try a new recipe for butter chicken and I thought, synchronicity!

Pretty sure we don't have this spice in our pantry though, it's not widely available in my small rural town so we would have to do without.

Later, while he's cooking, he hollers from the pantry, "Hey Hon...What's Masala?"

I tell him it's an Indian spice & it would be nice if we had some to try in this dish— also thinking I'm in the twilight zone.

He emerges from the pantry with a bottle of Masala cooking wine in hand neither of us remembered we had on our shelves!

I am in the twilight zone.

I realized the Universe is slapping me in the face with the prompt and what to write.

The finished dish was incredible!

Please note, I never said the word masala Sunday until after dinner when I told him this very short story.😂
