For this week’s OpenMic, the theme is Breakaway and I picked The Climb by Miley Cyrus. I feel like this song just makes sense for this theme because honestly, there are times when life just feels like one big struggle.

Like, there have been moments where I’ve felt like okay, this is it, I’m stuck, like there are just too many mountains and obstacles and no matter how hard I try, I’m not moving. And in those moments, it’s so easy to feel like what’s the point? Like am I even getting anywhere? And I know I’m not the only one who has felt that way.

But one thing about life is that even when it feels like nothing is changing, as long as you keep pushing, you’re still moving. You might not see it immediately but progress is happening. And that’s why I love this song so much, it’s such a reminder that the journey itself is important. The struggles, the setbacks, the slow progress, it’s all part of it.
