16% or 10% APY?

My previous post on Leo finance mentioned that I have both crypto.com and wirex visa card, crypto.com cannot provide "earn" service to the user in Hong Kong due to the regulation, therefore the users in Hong Kong can only pick the Wirex wallet X-account to earning the interest.

Well, the APY on the stable coin and crypto token is different in X-account, they offer 16% for staking stable coin of fait currency like USDT, USDC, USD, HKD, and they offer 10% for staking crypto token.

At the beginning I though staking stable coin / fiat can get high interest rate, yes I did get "more" interest when I stake my stable coin in the x-account for 6 months, but it was embarrassing for me to seeing that the crypto market had surge a lot during these 6 months...

Stupid me, I could earn much more if I not staking my asset in the stable coin, I got "more" interest but I missed a good surge...I didn't realized that they payout interest based on my asset value...I sold my LTC at 130 back in July 2021 then stake my USD in the x-account meanwhile it surged to US$295 in Nov 2021...I would have much more interest if I kept my LTC in the x-account when I look back now...

I started change my strategy since 2022, I should ignore the earning on the interest rate for shot term and focus on the super surge for long term now...hopefully the market is not going to have another big correction this in the next few months...
