Splinterlands Art Contest

Hello everyone~~ ^^ How are you?
Here’s my drawing for the Splinterlands Art Contest. For this week’s contest, I decided to choose among the old Splinterlands Card and I chose the “Dark Enchantress” card to draw. This character is one of the most beautiful women in Splinterlands. I really love her black dress and hat, it makes her look more gorgeous. I also love her red eyes and the third eye also makes her look so cool! ^^ what makes me want to draw a character is these cool feature that a normal human wouldn’t have like having a third eye or horns with amazing shapes. I also love turning the animals that have lots of eyes. I always wonder how they would look on a human being.:D

I wanted to make a realistic portrait of this character so I started with a sketch of a girl and drew long her for her. In the original art the character has curly hair but I decided to draw straight hair for her. After that I drew the other remarkable features. I didn’t change the style of her hat or dress because they were looking so perfect as the way they already were so the only change I made when I was working on the sketch was changing her curly hair to straight her. ^^

After that I finished working on the sketch, I started coloring the character. I usually started with coloring the skin first, so for this purpose I used the original character’s skin color which is purple color, I didn’t want to change the skin color because it was one of the important features of the character.
Then I chose a darker color and shaded her skin and then using a lighter color I added highlights on her skin.
After that I finished working on her skin, I went on coloring her facial features, dress, hair and hat. Then it was time to add some detailed and make her hair look realistic. This part that I add details is my favorite part of every drawing ^^ after that I worked on her dress patterns and then added some highlights on her lips and eyes.
I also loved the necklace she has got it looks really beautiful so I decided to draw earrings for her too and I drew a simple one for her. ^^
I usually tend to keep the background simple because I want all the focus and attention to be on the character but this time I wanted to add some magical effect so I used a glitter brush and added lots of little lights around the character. I duplicated the layer so it would be more shiny and I really liked it this way. ^^ I have drawn drawing this character long time ago but this one turned out to be so much more beautiful than the others that I have worked on. ^^

All the brushes that I used are these one: I used soft air brush and hard air brush for coloring, shading and highlighting the skin and for the rest of the features. I used a hair brush for adding the hair details and then used a light brush for adding more hair strands. I also used this brush for drawing the eyelashes and the patterns on her dress.
I also used a glitter brush to add the magic effect in the end.
