Remembering a trip to the Niagara falls

Our trip to the Niagara falls a few years ago was not only memorable but also a long one. My wife and I were on a business trip to Michigan, USA and Niagara falls was a must visit for us because we knew this might be the only chance to see it as we needed to return to Mexico (where I was working at the time) after 2 weeks.

We had to take the longer route within the US to get to the Niagara falls. So since it would be a long 7 hour journey we decided to make a stop at Erie, where we would rest for the night and continue to the Niagara falls in the morning.

We started the journey on a friday evening. Unfortunately I was late from work and it already got dark as we started.

We made the stop and rest at this hotel at Erie. The next day we got up early and after capturing this photo of my wife,

Continued our journey to the falls.

Almost there...

Yep she almost hides the excitement. My wife loves being photographed.

The Niagara falls is huge and powerful.

The bridge to Canada.

We next head to the boat that can take us close to the waterfall. It is called the 'Maid of the Mist'.

Can't help take a selfie, Thank God my cell phone was water resistant. The boat took us really close to the falls. Due to the high mist we couldn't see anything at one point.

There are benches and rest places around and the huge mist surrounding the falls makes it look magical.

Just before the falls the water is exactly how it looks like, rough and dangerous. If you try to feel it with one hand, it can pull you in.

Just outside the park there are cute buses like these that can take you around the city.

And here is a nice night view taken from the USA side (obviously). The high rise buildings are in Canada.
