Blue bug doing it's thing

I used a different brush than usual on this guy. It's a pastel brush from within procreate.

I didn't have a whole lot of time to work on this cutie, but I think for having around an hour I did pretty good.

And as most of my drawing do, here's a sketch. Just some lines doing line things.

Some green.

More green and some blue.

I actully really like the texture of this brush. it is shockingly similiar to working with pastel. Except since it's digital it's a lot more forgiving. Physical pastel can only be layered so much.

I ended up adding a bunch to the grass so the texture and lighting made more sense.

From there I just added more lights/darks letting the brush texture shine.

Then it's time for the red details stuff.

Then some more highlight. And I really do not understand how a digital brush can feel soft.

And then it's done!
