Constantinople... Finally! Ethereum 2.0

After a long bumpy ride and with some delays, Constantinople has finally arrived. It occurred when Ethereum reaches block 7,280,000 this February 28th, 2019. Two upgrades actually happened Constantinople and St. Petersburg, but were ultimately treated as one.

St. Petersburg will disable a part of Constantinople’s code that contained flaws in the security of Smart contracts. Beyond this, the rest of the changes implemented with St. Peterburg should not affect ordinary users.

Constantinople is meant to bring efficiency improvements to the platform, including cheaper transaction fees and faster operations on the Ethereum network. It is a radical change that will basically reduce the block rewards from 3 ETH to 2 ETH, this will allow an very high number of TPS with low energy consumption and an economic model that stimulates savings by increasing the value of the circulating tokens.

The crypto community is not over-hyped on this news though, as Ethereum price remains stable having strong resistance at price $140.
