Understanding Beta Blockers: How They Work and Their Effects on the Body ‎

‎What are Beta blockers?



Actually... Beta blockers are those medications that helps in managing diseases especially those health conditions related to the heart.



So, friends and followers. In this post, I will explore how beta blockers work. Additionally , I will talk about their impact on the human body, and the different types of beta blockers that we have in the human body. Okay.



‎Beta blockers are also called beta-adrenergic blocker. They are those medications that reduce the effects of epinephrine or adrenalin on the human body (see video for more). By blocking the action of epinephrine, beta blockers have the ability to slow down the heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and decrease the heart's workload.
‎Moving on, 😍 we have two main types of beta blockers:

We have ‎Beta 1 Blockers and Beta 2 Blockers.



Beta 1 blockers are those blockers that primarily affect the heart, reducing heart rate and the force of contraction. Examples include Metoprolol, Atenolol and so on...
Now moving on to Beta 2 Blocker. They are those blockers that affect other parts of the body, such as the liver, stomach, eyes, and lungs e.t.c.



So...
In this video, I didn't list the organs and I forgot to talk about the fact that beta blockers reduces the intraocular pressure due to reduction in the the amount of intraocular fluid.( Check the sections below 👇 👇 👇).



These Blocker examples include propranolol which is actually a non-selective blocker. ( I made a mistake there). That is, it blocks both beta 1 and beta 2 receptors. Also butoxamine is a selective beta 2 blocker.




‎Stop wondering😂😂😂 🤌. Beta blockers work by binding to beta receptors in the body, preventing epinephrine from binding to the same beta adrenagic receptor.
Okay, this leads to a reduction in heart rate and blood pressure there by decreasing cardiac output. Also, it ppcauses relaxation of smooth muscle in blood vessels.



Moving on to the effects of this beta blockers on the body.
‎Beta blockers can have various effects on the body, including:

‎- Reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.
‎- Management of angina commonly known as chest pain.
‎- Treatment of certain heart rhythm disorders.
‎- Relief from performance anxiety and migraines.




A mnemonic trick: Beta 1 blockers are primarily found in the Heart while Beta 2 blockers are extensively found in other parts of the body Beta two blockers are found in areas such as the Liver, Stomach, Eyes, and Lungs (Check my video to see it effects 😉).
