War is not moral.
This is my go-to video for Memorial Day, and all other discussions about the military:
I have mixed thoughts about Memorial Day. My father is a retired Marine. Both of my grandfathers served in WWII. My Pop-Pop’s brother died I think at Omaha Beach, so Pop-Pop was sent back stateside.
I like to honor my uncle's memory, though I never knew him.
However, I believe that most of the wars Americans fought in were unnecessary. Most soldiers were sent to fight for interests rather than freedom.
I don’t want to dishonor those who have served. But I think most of them were fooled by politicians.
I actively discourage young people from joining the military.
