Happy Independence Day!
It's not 'Treason Day', people.
I realize it's a joke, and I’ve surely said it myself at some point, but let's not start making treason fashionable even facetiously. The Left has been trying to make treason look cool for decades with only mixed success. Dante assigned the hottest ring of hell to those who betrayed their friends and country.
Our Founders believed that their sacred rights as Englishmen were being betrayed by King George, thus the "He hath . . ." statements in the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration makes clear also that secession is a right of people who find their government oppressive, but it is no traitorous or treasonous act to defend one's rights against a usurping tyranny.
