The Virgin New Corps ACOG vs Chad Old Corps Iron Sights: So Controversial Yet So Brave

Some Marines have a preference in rifle optics but really it's situational to me.

     For instance, my go-to home defense AR pistol has iron sights while my hunting rifle has a scope that literally has an operating system. In a home invasion scenario, I don't think the crooks are gonna honor calling timeout while that sucker boots up. _duh Such isn't the case for the ACOG, though.

    Not gonna lie. Having an Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight or ACOG in the fleet was pretty sweet and would much rather prefer it in situations with lower lighting.

Fun fact: ACOGs use a radioactive material called Tritium to create an illuminated reticle that feeds in light i.e. moonlight, sunlight etc

    Despite how cool this optic is, many Marines prefer old school iron sights. One perk I can think of would be durability. I don't know how much of a beating an ACOG can take but imagine much less than iron sights.

    Yes, the Virgin / Chad comparison was just tongue-in-cheek because I'm damn near sure all Marines have taken the greeny weenie at some point so virginity has been revoked. Sure most of us have some fuck-fuck games in memory.

    One I recall involved a Master Guns, a dog whistle, and junior Marines running back and forth in a field because somebody had lost a piece of gear. When one of us loses, we ALL lose... Fun times.
