🌿 Weekend Project on the Rooftop Terrace

This weekend I spent some time doing garden work on the rooftop terrace.
While removing old plants, I uncovered a surprisingly large root system — much bigger than I expected in some areas.

Luckily, I didn’t find any ant colonies during the process. 🐜

On a rooftop terrace, I’m especially careful with ants because I want to avoid them starting to dig or nest inside insulation materials or other parts of the building structure.

The pictures show quite well how far even smaller plants can spread beneath the surface.
It’s always fascinating to see what is hidden underneath an otherwise ordinary-looking area.
