Several months ago the Ontario Government under Ford cut 84 million dollars out of the Child Services budget.

As predicted this is what happened.

Social Services has left people go, workers whose job it is to keep track of kids in the Foster System at Foster Homes
Please keep in mind that this was an already stretched part of the system with kids falling through the system.

Services to families to help them stay above the poverty line have been cut, therapy has been cut, food sources have been cut... basically the resources needed for them to stay out of the system.

It’s quick sand

No help to hold onto their children, then the children are taken and put into the system; where they’re lost.

Families and social services workers took to the streets today in Toronto to protest the cuts and ask for the funding to be reinstated. The Ontario government is no longer sitting till after the next Federal election so there’s a good chance it’s not going to be reversed anytime soon.

So what’s a people to do?
