Boats on the land
The water came closer as I went towards the water and the ships came so close they were on land.
They have dry docked the boats so they can work on them during the dry season. The ingenuity of these people is astounding. They have no huge mechanical lifts or means of lifting a boat out of water yet they have many boats on shore to be worked on all season.
With this many wooden boats there is much cutting and board ripping, the smell is wonderful to smell. Not sure what wood they are using but I know it is not bamboo.
For the age ware and tear on this boat it looks like it will still take some rough seas. Not totally aware of what is wrong and what is to be repair, yet the state of this boat looks as thought it could be launched today and not sink.
Seems like those plug sticking out need to be sorted with a real waterproof fix. I wonder if they use wooden bolts too?
More angles of this beauty of a boat. The people are friendly here they are happy to see someone wander and look in aww at what is happening here. This town is quite a show of design and colour. More will be explored over the next few days.
Here is another big boat that would be a treat to sail on.
Thanks for having a look, I did not spend long time here and only took a few shops....I'll have more about some of the crafts made in this town.
These pictures were taken on the waters edge in the town of Da Nang in the country of Vietnam.
- Thanks for having a look at a boat cross the waters edge and taking a moment for your thought to be thought that stopped as such as they did as I sat here look at the same spot. More to come as I am still around.
Check out Pinmapple for my map of places that I have been and will go back to in time.
