Breaking: Unconfirmed reports of some Turkish-backed rebels retreating from Manbij
BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 P.M.) - Some Turkish-backed rebel factions have been allegedly given orders to withdraw from the outskirts of Manbij city, the Step News Agency reported this evening.
According to the Step News report, a new order was given to the Euphrates Shield forces to withdraw from the Manbij outskirts as the Turkish military has cancelled the offensive on the city.
No footage or photos have been released to corroborated these claims.
However, since this claim was made this evening, several pro-opposition activists have reported that these rumors are not true.
If any rebel groups do retreat from Manbij, it will likely be linked to the recent reports about U.S. President Donald Trump reconsidering the withdrawal of his nation's troops from Syria.
