Hey beautiful people.
It's a new week. Let me take you through this gorgeous project.
A two piece corporate outfit.
I thought of starting a corporate collection, so I decided to make a sample for promotion.
I was inspired by a shirt I saw a dude in sometime last month. O attended a wedding and realized his shirt was kind of unique. It has a blazer and shirt all on in, OS I decided to make mine a two piece.
The first challenge I had with this design is figuring out the right colors to pair.
I had only the teal green fabric at my disposer which wasn't enough for the design.
So I began brainstorming which other color could compliment the teal green. I know mint green does so well with real, but it's a regular color combination.
I started making research online, the suggestions were green and champagne color, teal green and biege, custard yellow and green but none of them caught my eyes.
The next resolution was to visit the market myself with the teal green fabric to see which other color could fit perfectly.
Butter and yes I fell in love with it immediately.
After getting the right colors to pair, I began drafting the two piece first.
The first part here, is the shirt as seen in the picture.
The second part is the blazer part which had the teal green.
Here, I had sewed and joined them.
I proceeded to draft the collar,I used the butter color fabric for it. I cut and sewed it.
Here, I had finished making the upper part of the outfit.
The next was to draft the pant. I wanted a very classic pant that's not pegged, so a Palazzo was the right deal.
I didn't want a zipper fly but I wanted side pockets and a side zipper.
To achieve the Palazzo pant, I used the slash and spread method because I wanted a box pleat effect on the front part. As seen in the picture, I slashed the mid part of the pant to add fullness to the pants.
I did the same at the back of the pants, I only added fullness at the hem.
Here's the final result, showcasing the back, front, full view of this fit.
I'm yet to find a beautiful name for this set. I'll be hiring a model who'll rock this fit for promotion and I can't wait to see what my potential clients think about this design.
Is it a hit or miss? What do you love the most about this fit, I'd love to hear from you.
Images used are mine.
Amie,
