Hello Needle Workers..
It's a beautiful day to share my needlework project with you.
I hope you're ready to embrace the new week with so much positivity.
Do we have a specific outfit for a beach hang-out? Most of my friends does and that's cool anyway. Few times I've seen people wearing a maxi-dress to the beach and I don't think that's out of place too. Well, everyone has got their own unique taste.
For me, I love to looking very casual to the beach, a short dress could do, a Jean and polo or anything less formal could work for me, but I won't judge anyone based on their style neither will I impose my style on them.
Sewa believed in wearing short dresses to the beach and each time she had a beach hang-out she run to me to make her short dresses.
Since her birthday was slated for the weekend, she had already brought me a chiffon polka dot fabric to make her a short shirt dress.
She brought a couple of fabrics anyway, which she would be rocking for her birthday photoshoot but the one which I would be sharing today is her beach dress made by me.
A chiffon fabric is a see-through fabrics which often requires lining. I ensured I got a perfect lining for the fabric to add flesh to the dress and also achieve a perfect finishing.
This fabric got to me three days ago which was on Thursday evening and on Friday I got to work to ensure her dress was ready before today.
I've been battling with poor power supply lately so I couldn't take pictures of the process. I always love to share that with you when there's no hindrance like the inconsistent power supply to charge my phone.
However for the purpose of sharing how I achieved the dress, I quickly used a paper to illustrate a few minutes ago.
The measurement I worked with were the hip, bust, waist, armhole, shoulder, and sleeve measurement, including her desired gown length.
Folded in two, I used her hip measurement to achieve that, as it is the biggest oat of her body and then I marked out her bust measurement, waist and neckline , before cutting.
This is how it should look like, the front bodice carries the extra allowance for fasteners as it's a shirt dress.
The back has no allowance for. Fasteners, I ensured to cut the lining exactly like the chiffon and then I turned the chiffon with the lining and also join the necessary part like shoulder and side seam.
Then I attached the sleeve to bodice and today, the shirt dress is ready. She would be coming for fittinhs by 12 noon today and I am patiently waiting to see how beautiful this dress will look on her.
My job is to ensure my clients are satisfied with their outfit and ready to rock to whatever occasion they have in mind with so much excitement.
What do you love about this dress?
Images belong to me.
Amie,
