Highway 16 through the mountains
Everyone knows how stunning the Rockies are
and I was lucky to be travelling through on a late fall day in stunning weather. I had to stop along the highway and grab a few photos while dodging traffic at the same time.
This photo was taken looking almost due west several KMs east of Moose Lake. The road and fall colours had the right feel so I pulled over and waited for traffic before pulling out the camera.
As soon as people see you have a camera they jam on the brakes expecting there to be wildlife along the highway. I typically try to be pretty stealthy when shooting along the highway.
This photo was shot looking north toward Mt Robson. At almost 3954m Robson is the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies and second tallest in British Columbia behind Mt Waddington.
It isn't everyday that the top of Robson is visible and when it is you pull over and run out into traffic to get the shot.
