Two years later, do these markers still work?

I’ve had these markers for almost two years now, and during that time they’ve helped me with many projects—things for my son’s school and some personal decorations I’ve made. Even though I’ve had them for almost two years, most of them still work, but obviously not everything is perfect. Today I did a test to start weeding out the colors that no longer work, and although I thought I’d be throwing away more, it’s quite a big loss considering that these are extremely important colors—perhaps the ones I use most often.

I bought these markers on AliExpress; I don't remember exactly how much they cost me, but I think it was $18. They come in 48 colors, and since they're acrylic markers, they work on all kinds of surfaces, which makes them even more special. Although when I received them, I felt they were too thin and that there wasn’t much variety in the colors—there are many shades that are almost identical, and most are very ugly brownish-green tones, like mud color—and obviously, those are the colors I’ve used the least during all this time; in fact, those shades are almost brand new.

And the colors I use most often are the basic shades—blues, reds, yellows, black… Some of those are actually past their prime. So I decided to throw them away because they’re completely dried out.

I was surprised that so many of the colors still worked, since the last time I used these markers, a lot of them had dried out. But today it seems like they’ve freshened up a bit and many of them have come back to life; I tested them on a notebook and almost all of them worked pretty well. I can still enjoy these markers for a while longer. Honestly, I liked them, though I have to admit that some shades are quite light and don’t have much pigment (white, beige, light skin tone)—those shades need several layers to even show up.
