Splinterlands art contest | Kiara Lightbringer

Hola comunidad, espero que hayan tenido un hermoso fin de semana. Hoy quiero mostrarles mi ultimo dibujo que forma parte también de mi entrada al concurso de arte de @Splinterlands para esta semana, esta vez elegí hacer algo totalmente opuesto a mi estilo que suele ser mas dark y dramático y creo que Kiara Lightbringer era la carta perfecta para salir de esta zona de confort, aunque admito que un futuro quisiera realizar una versión oscura de esta carta, por ahora quería explorar un poco esta paleta de colores y una composición bastante llamativa y colorida, esta carta me parece muy tierna y realmente quería reflejar eso, quise hacerla en una edad mas adulta y con un rostro angelical, espero que les guste.

Today I want to show you my last drawing which is also part of my entry to the @Splinterlands art contest for this week, this time I chose to do something totally opposite to my style which is usually more dark and dramatic and I think Kiara Lightbringer was the perfect card to get out of this comfort zone, although I admit that in the future I would like to make a dark version of this card, for now I wanted to explore a little this color palette and a quite striking and colorful composition, this card seems to me very tender and I really wanted to reflect that, I wanted to make her in a more adult age and with an angelic face, I hope you like it.

Comencé mi idea pensando en un retrato ya que es algo en lo que me va muy bien, realice unas nubes de fondo y un boceto rápido del arcoíris, elegí una paleta de colores para pintar, esta vez pinte con un tono piel bastante claro de base y luego comencé a agregar mas capas para aplicar mas colores y darle forma al rostro, comencé con un pincel difuso y luego utilice un pincel duro para agregar todas estas tonalidades.

I started my idea thinking about a portrait since it is something I do very well, I made some clouds in the background and a quick sketch of the rainbow, I chose a palette of colors to paint, this time I painted with a fairly light skin tone base and then I started adding more layers to apply more colors and shape the face, I started with a diffuse brush and then used a hard brush to add all these shades.

Difumine la piel con un pincel duro y opacidad baja y luego pase el pincel difuso para mezclar aun mejor los colores y darle suavidad a la piel, para el cabello utilice un color base ocre, y luego comencé a darle reflejos de un tono rubio y algunas sombras con marrón oscuro, para pintar la ropa use morado y rosa, quería mantenerme fiel al color del vestuario pues me encantan estos dos tonos combinados, después de terminar la ropa y la diadema, comencé a pintar un collar con una estrella en el dije, me pareció un detalle bastante bonito.

I blurred the skin with a hard brush and low opacity and then pass the diffuse brush to blend the colors even better and give softness to the skin, for the hair I used an ocher base color, and then I started to give highlights of a blonde tone and some shadows with dark brown, to paint the clothes I used purple and pink, I wanted to stay true to the color of the costume because I love these two tones combined, after finishing the clothes and the headband, I started to paint a necklace with a star on the pendant, I thought it was a pretty nice detail.

Los ojos me parecían muy lindos pero seguían luciendo muy oscuros a comparación de la carta original así que aplique una nueva capa con ajustes de modo de fusión donde comencé a resaltar el azul intenso de los ojos y aplique un poco mas de rubor al rostro, para el fondo comencé a pintar unas nubes, sin embargo, la dirección de las nubes en el boceto que hice no tenia mucho sentido asi que lo hice del lado contrario, comencé a pintar un arcoíris detrás de ella, luego dibuje una pequeña estrella ya que quería colocar varias en el fondo pero experimentando un poco, me gusto como se veían algunas estrellas delante, finalmente aplique un leve ajuste de color y resalte con brillos algunas partes del dibujo.

The eyes looked very nice but they still looked very dark compared to the original card so I applied a new layer with blending mode adjustments where I started to highlight the intense blue of the eyes and applied a little more blush to the face, for the background I started to paint some clouds, however, the direction of the clouds in the sketch I made didn't make much sense so I did it on the opposite side, I started to paint a rainbow behind her, then I drew a small star that I wanted to place in the background but, experimenting a little, I liked how some stars looked in front, finally I applied a slight color adjustment and highlighted some parts of the drawing.
