Quick Self Portrait
I'm no stranger to the self portrait. They're a lot of fun and I've taken many a photo of myself, either out of boredom or the fact that I don't have a lot of friends that like their photos taken. Plus when you want to test out lighting and no one is around, you're it. With all that said, this was done very quick as I had a busy week of work.
I will say though, most of my self portraits are all dolled up with makeup. This is me in my true state. No makeup, tangled hair, glued my computer. I spend the majority of my day hunched over at my computer. My job is a Camera Loader on tv shows, which involves taking the cards shot from the cameras and copying them to several hard drives that get sent to the editors. Soooo, I'm at my computer a large chunk of my day. And then I get home and sit at it editing photos or researching topics for projects.
I've been on a computer ever since the Macintosh II came out...So I guess that's my whole life. Hah.
Uh oh, deadline is approaching! Gotta wrap this up and post for the @photogames Self Portrait Contest....If you didn't notice, I've also been a procrastinator my whole life. But I never miss an assignment! ;)
Oh and I shot these with my 16-35mm lens. Instead of going with a deep Depth of Field as with most portraits, I wanted to be able to see my whole body and give a little warp feel. So I set it at 16mm and played. I look so tiny compared to the couch and even my computer and I LOVE it! Even if you don't have an interesting background or time to set up lights, a good lens choice can make a difference.
