Art: Interchangeable layers, interchangeable meaning. 001 (+process) Eng-Sp

Hello, everyone!

I want to share with you an illustration I have recently been working on and perfecting. What makes this piece special is that it consists of interchangeable layers, each with its own meaning.

By combining them in different ways, the illustration is able to convey different messages. It's a kind of work in constant evolution, whose meaning can be modified by simply altering the order of the layers.

Today I will focus on displaying three layers in particular: one middle layer, one character layer and one lower layer. I want to share with you how bringing these three parts together in a certain way gives rise to a specific meaning for the composition as a whole.

This image arises from a reflection: sometimes words, like tongues, can wound in a subtle but profound way. A careless comment is capable of opening internal wounds that are difficult to heal.

I represented that invisible wound as an emptiness in the chest, to graphically portray the pain that hurtful remarks can cause. The tongue-like cacti symbolize sharp phrases capable of inflicting harm.

And the bacteria are the memory of those words that orbit eternally in the mind, reproducing and enlarging the wound over time.

With this illustration I wanted to denounce the enormous weight that statements carry, and raise awareness about the need for greater care and empathy in self-expression. Are the words I share today thoughtfully chosen or could they unwittingly inflict harm? I invite reflection.

Quiero presentarles una ilustración que recientemente he estado trabajando y perfeccionando. Lo que hace especial a esta pieza es que consta de capas intercambiables, cada una con su propio significado.

Al combinarlas de diferentes maneras, la ilustración es capaz de transmitir distintos mensajes. Es una especie de obra en constante evolución, cuyo sentido puede modificarse con solo alterar el orden de las capas.

El día de hoy me enfocaré en exhibir tres capas en particular: la media, el personaje y la baja. Quiero compartir con ustedes cómo al reunir estas tres partes de determinada forma, surge un significado específico para la composición en su conjunto.

Esta imagen surge a raíz de una reflexión: a veces las palabras, al igual que las lenguas, pueden herir de forma sutil pero profunda. Un simple comentario hecho sin pensar es capaz de abrir brechas internas difíciles de cicatrizar.

Representé esa herida invisible como un vacío en el pecho, para graficar el dolor que pueden causar los dichos hirientes. Los cactus-lengua simbolizan las frases punzantes capaces de lastimar.

Y las bacterias son el recuerdo de esas palabras que orbitan eternamente en la mente, reproduciéndose y agrandando la herida con el tiempo.

Con esta ilustración quise denunciar el enorme peso que tienen los dichos, y concientizar sobre la necesidad de mayor cuidado y empatía al expresarnos. Las palabras que hoy comparto, ¿estarán cuidadosamente elegidas o podrían herir sin intención? Invito a la reflexión.
