Let's Try "NEMO" (PICO-8) A Picross Game for the Fantasy Console
NEMO by mooon is a puzzle game for PICO-8 based on Picross. The goal is to reveal a hidden picture by filling in cells on a grid based on numerical clues.
Each row and column is accompanied by a number that signifies how many cells should be filled on that row and column. The goal is to fill the cells in their exact location to reveal the hidden picture.
I love the presentation of NEMO. There's a lot more animation in this game than needed, and it's beautiful to look at. I'm slow at solving Picross puzzles, so in this recording I only sloved one, and attempted the second. It's a relaxing game to play.
PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console designed to create, share and play small retro-inspired games. Games made for PICO-8 are constrained in aethistics, code and size to encourage creativity. PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges. In this series of videos, I discover great games made on this Fantasy Console, letting you discover these games with me.
