โ
Hello Foodies lovers !!
Today I want to share one of my mainstay dishes at home that always succeeds in making me add more rice even though it's an old date ๐ - it's called "Jangan Lombok" (calm down, it doesn't mean without chili!) . It's a homemade recipe that tastes savory and spicy , and the aroma makes the neighbors come over !!
๐ง LOVE KITCHEN INGREDIENTS :
โข1 handful of green chili peppers (ยฑ200 gr)
โข2 cloves of garlic
โข10 cloves shallots
โข5 red chili peppers (or to taste)
โข1 galangal segment (crushed)
โข2 bay leaves
โขยฝ tablespoon salt
โข1 tsp micin (can skip if anti)
โข1 stick of brown sugar
โข200 gr tempeh (cut into small pieces)
โข1 liter coconut milk (real coconut is better)
๐ณ HOW TO COOK IT - DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, JUST MAKE IT TASTY:
-Thinly slice the green chilies, don't be stingy!
-Tempeh cut into small pieces, don't make it big, it will just float ๐
-Fry red chili , garlic , shallots , and sliced green chili .. So it doesn't smell langรน ..
-Fry the tempeh too, but only half-cooked.
-Grind shallots + garlic (I use a manual press to feel the effort โ). The chili is just enough to be coarsely ground, so that there is still a bite sensation of chili.
-Pour coconut milk into the pot, add all the spices + galangal + bay leaf + brown sugar + salt + micin.
-Cook on high heat while stirring constantly, don't leave it for coffee - the coconut milk will break ๐ .
-After boiling, let it sit until it's cooked, so that the marinade will blend in and release its great aroma!
๐ "JANGAN LOMBOK" IS READY TO EAT!
It's best eaten with steamed rice ,, tempeh and tofu ,, plus fresh spinach and chayote ..So complete, so simple but so delicious! ๐ฟ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Oh yes, I apologize if the dish looks like it was made below, not on the table. Understandably, I'm currently migrating in Jakarta and living in a small rental. I don't have a lot of furniture and cooking utensils yet. But for me, that's not a reason to stop working and sharing. Instead, from this limitation, I learn to stay enthusiastic, creative, and not ashamed to show the process as it is โจ
๐ฌ Let's chat!
Has anyone ever made a "no chili" too? Or have your own version? Or do you guys call it differently in your area?
Tell us in the comments! โจ
Keep supporting local home cooking like this, so that more people are inspired to cook for themselves โค๏ธ
