Reality and negative aspects of nitrogen fertilizers in modern agriculture
Nitrogen fertilizers in modern agriculture are being used excessively, a situation that brings with it problems that in most cases not only affect the economy from the point of view of their acquisition, but also the misuse of these products causes associated imbalances in the soil that damage its fertility, besides causing pollution in the environment, where the water used for human, animal and vegetable consumption may be affected.
▶ There is worldwide concern from the environmental and social point of view, about the handling of synthetic fertilizers, taking into account that the indiscriminate use of these products causes devastating problems to the atmosphere.

The mentioned effects are similar to those caused by the greenhouse effect, in the particular case of the soil, it directly affects the survival of soil microflora, generating an ecological imbalance that produces unfavorable consequences.
Agriculture uses high applications of mineral fertilizers, especially nitrogenous fertilizers, which are mainly responsible for the nitrate content in water, since their accumulation in soils and groundwater can be toxic at certain levels.
Unabsorbed nitrogen fertilizers remain in the soil and alter its structure, destroying the bacteria with the consequent reduction of fertility fertilizers cause serious ecological disturbances.
According to the FAO, groundwater is contaminated mainly by the presence of nitrates, worldwide groundwater is an important reserve of drinking water, in many developing countries, this water resource is contaminated to the point that it no longer meets the conditions established in the current standards for human consumption.
