Splinterlands Restructure By The Numbers
In this video, I discuss the numbers behind the recent restructure announcement by the team. The biggest one was the reduction in their overall expenses, now estimated at roughly $60k per month, or $720k per year. This is over a 60% reduction from the roughly $2M rate the DAO had signed up to cover for the team a few months ago. Following that, the updated proposal now asks for $2,000 per month from the DAO to team as opposed to $5,500. With the amount that is currently coming in from credits, which in June averaged more than $3000 per day, the team/DAO are actually in profit now and no longer running a deficit. With this surplus, the idea of buybacks of tokens (SPS/DEC) have been discussed which is very exciting for future of the game and ecosystem.
