Diablo Immortal - Second Impression | Video Gameplay

Diablo Immortal.png

Greetings!

It has been less than a month since I first reviewed Diablo Immortal on my mobile device. Playing Diablo Immortal on my mobile device makes me nostalgic for the old Diablo II and Diablo II - Lord of Destruction (I never get to play Diablo III). Overall, my playing experience on my mobile is excellent except that my eyes would not let me read the text on the small screen of my mobile device. So, I decided to not play Diablo Immortal on my mobile device anymore because not reading the text defeats the overall playing experience of the game. With that being said, after less than a month of being busy, I was able to install Diablo Immortal on my laptop before the weekend and then I continued playing with my Demon Hunter character. Below is the video gameplay where I based my second impression of playing the game...

And below are my more detailed second impression of the game in playing it on my laptop...

But before I start and since I was not able to read the majority of the text on my mobile device when I first played it I relied on my gaming instinct and nostalgic intuition while playing games mobile. So, here goes...

A new Lord, Skarn - Lord of Damnation

There is a new lord, his name is Skarn, the Lord of Damnation, as I found out while playing the game (photo below). By the way, since I first played Diablo on PC I can say that I would not switch playing Diablo Immortal from PC to mobile (I love the huge screen and I can read the text very clearly plus I am more accustomed to using the mouse and keyboard).

Could this be Skarn? I am excited to find out... (gif image below)

Even Deckard does not know about "Lord of Damnation"

But I am surprised that even Deckard Cain is not familiar with Skarn...

I love the "Footprints" and "Auto-navigation"

Just like I mentioned in my first impression blog post I love the footprints/footsteps being added to the game making quests easier to accomplish and also the auto-navigation is a very welcome addition... (gif image below)

Footprints_1.gif

But the auto-navigation seems to be not permanent just like the footsteps/footprints, as far as I remember I unlocked auto-navigation for the second time since I started playing it on mobile (image below).

Auto-navigation is engaged when you see "navigating" on your screen...

Auto-navigation will be paused when you engage the enemy

Auto-navigation will be paused whenever you battle an enemy... to continue navigating I have to tap/click the circular button beside "NAVIGATION PAUSED" which is located at the center of the screen (image below).

Green Circle

Another welcome addition to the game is the green circle around an NPC which is an indication that you need to work with that NPC, one good example is Charsi where you will follow her around the safe zone (image below).

Stash (with equipment comparison)

Next up is an update on the stash where there is a comparison of the equipment that is currently equipped to the equipment currently in your bag, this is very helpful because you will know what to store or what not (image below).

vlcsnap-2022-08-29-15h28m13s877.png

Stashing is also very intuitive because there are instructions for ease of use...

Green Arrow on equipment

Another very welcome addition to the game is the green arrow pointing upward on the equipment currently in your bag, a green arrow means that its attribute is higher than the one currently equipped. This is not available on Diablo II which makes comparing equipment back then a little bit of a hassle (image below).

Free Daily Rewards on Shop

There is now a free daily reward on the shop which is not available on Diablo II (image below).

First Kill of the Day

I actually "First kill of the Day" did not click this for once, which I am going to do so the next time I play... (image below).

Salvaging equipment for gold

If my memory serves me right, there is no salvage all or sell all on Diablo II, here on Immortal salvaging or selling is very easy with the help of the salvage all feature (image below).

I need Healing / Revise at Checkpoint / Revive at Corpse

Another welcome addition to the game is when your character will tell you that he/she needs healing which is not available on Diablo II (image below). But even if my character spoke that she needs healing, I still died to which you will have an option to revive to checkpoint or revive at corpse (image below).

Drag and Drop Switching of Skills

Another feature that I love about the game is the drag-and-drop switching of skills, nice job Blizzard... (image below).

Informative Skills Management

Compared to the old Diablo II, I like Immortal's style of showing skills and their information, a very welcome addition also (image below).

Splash Damage

And last but not the least, if my memory serves me right there is no graphics where you will point your attack on the enemy in Diablo II just like the gif image below...

Final Thoughts

Overall the playing experience is great and makes me very excited to play the game, accomplishing quests is much more easy now than in Diablo II. As of the moment, I am still not feeling the "P2W" aspect of the game, maybe I would in the coming days, but I will let you know by then...

That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
