A nice little stroll on Sunday, taking me from Exmouth a few miles up the coast to Budleigh Salterton…
I had a couple of family members making their way in the other direction to Budleigh – a pleasant town by the sea, predominantly an 'older folk' place but plenty of people of all ages out and about enjoying the early spring vibe. As I'm in Exmouth at the moment, I embarked on my own 'trek' there to meet them.
It's about 5.5 miles so nothing too strenuous but still a nice stretch. The sun was out for the most part and the conditions were perfect.
Along the way I passed Sandy Bay, which as the name suggests is a small sandy beach, which is popular with tourists. There's a holiday park there too with static caravans and cafe/bar and the like. On a day like this you can see the attraction!
These are a few shots on route. A couple looking back to Exmouth after I'd ventured up the coast path from the beach, then looking at Sandy Bay and then onwards towards Budleigh. Lastly, I took a pic of a trail run advertised on a pole… who knows, I might even sign up ;)
Budleigh only has 2 pubs… and it turns out one was shut! Ok, the other one it is then. A couple of pints with family there and off on the jolly ol' fun bus back home.
Nice day for it, and a stunning part of the world when it's like this – and right on our doorstep!
