A gift from Waves
As some of you might know by my latest post, i did upgrade my DAW (Cubase) to the latest Version, and ran into the issue that my old (32 Bit) plug ins are no longer supported.
So i had to buy at least the most important ones new. Two purchases were made from Waves, and i made them while there 'Creative Weeks' where on. After purchasing the Gold Bundle and Abbey Road Chambers i received a mail, that i am eligible to get a free plug in of my choice. I went straight to their store to check it out. A little bit feeling like a child in a candy store it took me a while to pick one, and went for the Greg Wells Voice Centric. A Tool for processing Vocals (as you might guess by the name).
I have to say, i really like it. It provides the most common effects for Vocals (reverb, delay and doubler) and a compressor. It got only a basic 'Level' parameter for each effect, making it really easy and fast to use.
All of the effects sound great, and even if you want to use your preferred delay and reverb, the compressor does a real good job. Not loudening the signal too much, but giving it that extra boost to make vocals easily stand out of a mix.
Due to to all the circumstances of the last weeks, i have to do the mix on my upcoming EP 'Handpicked by the night' new. So when it's released, you will get the chance to hear the GW VoiceCentric in action on the songs.
Have a wonderfull Weekend and stay safe!
