Full Sail IPA at Capones for Beer Saturday
IPAs and Italian Food
Here we are, another week, another Beer Saturday. I actually have time to post this week (just about! Yep life is hectic)
It was my eldest son's thirteenth birthday yesterday, so we went to his favourite Italian's Capones for dinner.
To be fair the food is excellent.
This burger was the bomb!
A shnakey beer was mandatory!
Full Sail IPA. Tasty tasty beverage.
So tasty in fact that I had two.
Herself was driving.
Take it while ya can!
There’s something quietly satisfying about cracking into a Full Sail IPA, the kind of beer that doesn’t shout for attention but earns it all the same. It pours a tidy amber with a proper head on it as ya can see from my photos above and straight away you’re getting those familiar citrus notes, grapefruit, a bit of orange and that piney edge that I like in an IPA. It’s got that West Coast DNA, sure, but it doesn’t go overboard trying to strip the enamel off your teeth. Instead, it leans into balance, with a caramel malt backbone that rounds things out nicely.
What I like most is how drinkable it is, which might sound like faint praise, but it’s anything but. In a world where some IPAs feel like a challenge rather than a pleasure, this one keeps things grounded and you could easily ship 6 or 7 of them, though ya might pay the next day! It’s the sort of pint you could happily sit with for an evening, whether you’re pairing it with something hearty off the grill or just watching the rain do its usual dance against some Galway windows. To be fair, I shouldn't be giving out, we've had a full week of sunshine now, which has been unreal, especially for an avid golfer like me.
I enjoyed a recent round in Doonbeg in glorious sunshine, albeit it was very windy. I'll do a post on that one of the days...
Well, that's it.
Until next time Beer Saturdayorians...
Oh by the way...
How was your Beer Saturday?
Where were you?
What was the drink of choice?
Who was with you?
Are those your feet?
How's your auld one?
Any other craic?
