LeoGlossary: Vote (Hive)
A vote is an expression of like (upvote) or dislike (downvote) for a post or comment. The Hive blockchain uses the votes that a post/comment has received to determine its share of the rewards.
The Hive network also uses a voting system for governance issues. Under this category is the ability to decide on witnesses along with voting on proposals. This latter is a feature of the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) which has money available for projects that are deemed by the community to benefit the ecosystem.
Voting is an important component to the Hive ecosystem. This is all tied to the amount of Hive Power an individual wallet is holding. Those who want to have more influence over the blockchain and the reward pool will focus upon increasing the amount of HP they have.
